Zachary Hyman, or Zach Hyman, is a newly famous player in the world of professional poker. He runs a credit card processing company in Marin County, in the bay area of Northern California. The company has 85 employees and 500 outside salespersons, so that Zachary Hyman and his sibling can take some time off to play poker here and there, when they feel like it. Zachary Hyman and his brother had yet another company that was sold in 2003 and brought them some nice profits that allow them to enjoy their lives and dedicate their free time to anything that comes to mind.
His brother is not only his business partner, but also the man who introduced Zachary Hyman to the world of professional poker. That happened about two years ago, approximately in 2006. His brother took him to the Ventura Player's club and bankrolled Zach into a $5-$10 No Limit Hold'em tournament. Zachary Hyman, who has never played poker before, didn't even know what a "flush" was, and had to learn it all as the game went on. Apparently when someone puts you in a risky situation and lets you play a game you've never played before with a large amount of money at stake, you tend to be a quick learner. Or, at least, Zachary Hyman proved himself to be one.
It took Zachary Hyman about a year to feel he was ready to rock and roll, and indeed he did. The first time ever the world heard about Zachary Hyman was when he won The Wynn Classic No Limit Hold'em championship in Las Vegas on March 11th, 2007. Winning the tournament, or "wynning the tournament", as many poker related newsletters and websites enjoyed to declare, brought Zachary Hyman not only overnight fame, but also $729,033.
Since he is, after all, a busy man, and refuses to quit his job and make professional poker his major and only career, so far Zachary Hyman played mainly the major tournaments of the WPT, and won cash in six WPT events along with a single WSOP cashing.
During the year that passed since he won the 1st place of the Wynn Classic tournament, Zachary Hyman played a few impressing tables and hands. Since the Wynn tournament he seemed to relax a little, but on December 1st, 2007, he came back to the poker table and took the respectable 4th place and $55,785 in the No Limit Hold'em tournament in the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic, a WPT Season 6 event. Four months later, on April 4th, 2008, Zachary Hyman won the second 1st place, this time in the No Limit Hold'em tournament of the WPT World Championship, the 6th annual Five Stars World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. The grand prize, along with the 1st place, was $100,950. Very cool indeed for a relatively new poker player, isn't it?
On Jun 12th, 2008, Zachary Hyman made his first cash winning appearance in a WSOP event, as he played the WSOP Pot Limit Hold'em & Omaha tournament. That was the first Omaha tournament Zachary Hyman ever won cash in, mainly since his favorite poker game is No Limit Hold'em, and all we have to do now is wait and see – where will the talented Zachary Hyman go next? Anything seems to be possible.
