Tom Schneider was born on December 24, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana, but currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona. He is nicknamed “Donkey Bomber” and was a former CPA and business executive in Arizona, prior to becoming a poker player. After the last company he worked in was almost bankrupt, Tom Schneider quit his job, encouraged by his girlfriend, which he later on married, and turned to poker playing in full-time. Tom Schneider is also the author of the book “Oops! I Made Too Much Money: Winning Wisdom from the Boardroom to the Poker Table” and a co-host of the poker podcast “Beyond the Table” together with Karridy Askenasy and Dan Michalski.
Tom Schneider started playing poker at the young age of 10. His mother would pay him to baby sit his siblings and with that money Tom Schneider would bet in poker games with his friends, where he almost always would turn out the winner. In college he earned a C.P.A., but poker was still his greatest interest. It was not until 2002 that Tom Schneider turned to poker playing full time. To him, he says, poker represents opening a little business: “Your competitors are sitting around the table. You assess their weaknesses and strengths and try and exploit them, the only difference is that decisions happen at warp speed, and you don’t need any permits to set up shop.” Altogether Tom Schneider has an All Time WSOP Ranking 174, All Time IAR Ranking 186, earnings that come up to $1,400,000, 3 first place finishes, 2 WSOP Bracelets, 25 money finishes and 13 final tables.
