By April 2007, he made an additional $46,410 by ranking ninety-fourth at the WPT No-Limit Hold’em World Championship, earning him another 21.6 POY points. On June 4, 2007, Thom Werthmann came eighty-sixth in Event 6 Limit Hold’em at the 38th WSOP and won $2,360. This event took place in the Rio Hotel & Casino and earned him 10.5 POY points. The following month, he walked away with $25,820 and 38.3 POY points by finishing thirty-sixth in the WPT No-Limit Hold’em Championship Bellagio Cup III.

Thom Werthmann met with a lot of success in the year 2008 as well. His impressive fifth-place finish in Event 39 No-Limit Hold’em at the 39th Annual WSOP was another milestone in his poker career. He bagged a staggering $191,209 in prize money and earned 104.5 POY points more from this event, which was held at the Rio Hotel & Casino.
