Soren Jensen was born in 1971 in Denmark. He is a freelance photographer who plays very little poker whatsoever. Jensen has sprung up at the 2006 World Series of Poker which was conducted at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada for his first appearance in the United States. Soren Jensen managed to secure the 429th place within five days of playing. He cashed a total of $30,512, which after a buy-in of $10,000 left him with a take-home sum of $20,512 minus expenses etcetera.
Soren Jensen made his second attempt at reaching the poker hall of fame in 2008, at the European Poker Tour held in Copenhagen, the capital of his native Denmark. The home field experience must have done well for Soren Jensen, as he managed to come second to seasoned player Tim Vance. The crowd had already seen the antics from both the players who'd made it to heads-up play at the final table. The first encounter between Soren Jensen and reporters came a few days before the final when a seemingly enraged Soren Jensen stormed past the press room screaming in Danish. The press assumed he had been eliminated - it sounded like a two-outer - but in fact he had just taken down a big pot. In the intervening time reporters learned that Soren Jensen rarely wins a pot without letting everyone in a 10-mile radius know about it. Taking into account the fact that Jensen hasn't slept in the last 36 hours or so, which is the word on the street, it's amazing he's had the energy to put on such a performance. Soren Jensen was also rumored to be wearing the same clothes since Day 1 of the poker event, something we were thankfully unable to verify ourselves.
After a 5 day tournament and following almost two straight days of playing, Soren Jensen took a turn busting a player at the final table to bring the game to heads-up. On a flop of T-4-9, Magnus Hansen raised and saw Soren move all-in. Magnus made the call and Soren Jensen showed 9-4 for two pair, while Hansen showed T-6 for a pair of tens. The turn gave Hansen a flush draw possibility, but it didn't materialize on the river. Then Soren Jensen and Vance locked horns for the heads-up battle. It had taken Four and a half hours until it came down to Vance's A-T of spades that gave him the nut flush and the win, cashing a grand total of 6,220,488 DKK and leaving Soren Jensen with a take of 3,521,429 DKK. This was a feat by Jensen on many accounts – He has also started the final table ranking 4th in the amount of chips – only 500,000 compared to Tim Vance's 1,408,000.
