Shane Schleger was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Manhattan. He is a professional poker player. He played poker for the first time when he was 22 years old, at the Indian card rooms in New Mexico, but he really got into it a few years later when he met some New York City players and began to develop a passion for the game. In the $10,000 buy-in Bellagio Cup III main event he finished fourth. In 2007, Shaniac finished second in an Ultimate Bet Sunday $200,000 guarantee worth $28,000 and by the middle of August had already won over $56,000 in Online Player of the Year.
