Ryan Daut, born on 18th April, 1984, is an American professional poker player who lives in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. It was few friends who tempted Ryan Daut to play poker for making lots of quick money. He started playing poker in 2004 and within a year, he made $600 from a small investment of $45 by playing the lowest fixed-limit tables. Though he joined the Penn State University to earn his doctorate degree in mathematics, he left after the first semester to pursue his full-time poker career, which was more challenging and profitable. As a caring son, he helped his parents, who had retired, to pay off their mortgage from his World Poker Tour (WPT) earnings. Ryan Daut has many nicknames in poker circuit that includes “El Dauto”, “Beano”, “Jerry Bean”, “EZ Pass”, and “No Doubt-Daut”.

In January 2007, at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure/WPT Event Season 5, he went on to play his careful game and won first place beating Isaac Haxton, a poker professional from Syracuse, NY, in the No-Limit Hold’em event. Though Isaac Haxton was the chip leader, he could not sustain his lead for Ryan Daut meticulously worked his way out by identifying Isaac Haxton’s weaknesses. After the first few hands, Ryan Daut drew even and within the next hour, he planned his moves and took away most of the chips from Isaac Haxton’s stack. In the final hand, Ryan Daut became the chip leader, found AT, and set Isaac Haxton all-in. Desperate, Isaac Haxton, called with Q8 and lost the hand to Ryan Daut, who walked away with an awesome $1,535,255 in prize money.

In June 2007, Ryan Daut participated in the Mandalay Bay Poker Championships/WPT Event Season 6, finished 9th in No-Limit Hold’em Championship (Event #8) and got a tidy sum of $34,980. In the same year, his performance at the 38th Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) fetched him $4,706 in the No-Limit Hold’em (Event #3). In the same tournament, he made another $3,982 for his good game in the No-Limit Hold’em (Event #38). In December 2007, he played at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic/WPT Season 6, in which he earned $4,060 for his 24th place finish in the No-Limit Hold’em event. Ryan Daut made a landmark winning in the same tour, by securing 6th place in the No-Limit Hold’em Championship Doyle Brunson Classic event and whopping $192,715 in prize money was added to his bankroll.

At the 39th Annual World Series of Poker 2008, Ryan Daut won $2,950 in the No-Limit Hold’em (Event #2) Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. In the same series, he also took part in Event #46 - WSOP No Limit Hold'em Six Handed and earned $16,647 cash prize.

Ryan Daut was one among the two players who were selected to become a protégé of Taylor Caby, founder of Cardrunners. He regularly plays high-stake games online at “GreenPlastic”. He is also a genius when it comes to solving Rubik’s Cube puzzles, for it takes him less than 2 minutes for one puzzle.
