Rick Rossetti played his first major tournament event at the 2004 World Poker Finals on the World Poker Tour circuit in Mashantucket, where he participated in the $ 10,000 No Limit Hold'em event. In a field of 674 entrants, with a prize pool of $102,500, Rossetti finished 38th, earning $28,308.
Rossetti’s biggest tournament triumph came at a World Series Poker circuit tournament at the Harrahs in Atlantic City in November 2004. Competing in the $4,900 No Limit Hold'em Championship Event, Rossetti overwhelmed Alex Gomez, who came into the final day as the chip leader, in a gripping five-hour marathon to record his maiden tournament win. Rossetti topped the field of 237 entrants and took home the winner’s check of $379,096. This win also brought Rossetti championship gold and diamond rings, and a $10,000 entry to the 2007 World Series of Poker main event.
Rick Rossetti continued his good run in a warm-up tournament before the World Series of Poker main event, finishing third in the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event. Competing with 26 others, Rossetti came away from the event with $10,800. He managed another 3rd place performance at the Trump Classic in Atlantic City in December 2007. Participating in a $500 No Limit Hold'em event, Rossetti assured himself of a check for $4,875 from a prize pool of $ 32,500.
In January 2008, Rick Rossetti participated in the $9,700 No Limit Hold'em Championship Event at the Borgata Winter Open on the World Poker Tour circuit. Up against 506 other competitors, all fighting for a share of the $4,917,900 pool, Rossetti finished 35th, and took home $ 20,655 for his efforts.
