His career took off at the Austrian Masters where he finished 6th in Main Event – No-Limit Hold’em Masters on June 24, 2006 and earned a tidy sum of $9,646. Richard Toth played a brilliant game at the 37th Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP), winning second place where he lost to Mats Rahmn, European poker professional. His aggressive style of play fetched him a cool $333,729 in the No-Limit Hold’em (Event #27) on July 18, 2006.
The Austrian Classics/European Poker Masters (EPM) Event witnessed a brilliant performance from Richard Toth for he walked away with $132,622 in the No-Limit Hold’em event in October 2006 for his first-place finish. In December 2006, he finished 4th at the Budapest Poker Open in the Limit Seven Card Stud event. In the same month, he participated in the European Finals of Poker (EFOP) and finished 16th in the No-Limit Hold’em Championship EFOP Diamond and earned a good sum of $5,780.
Richard Toth played yet another amazing game in the Scandinavian Open/European Poker Tournament (EPT) Event Season 3 in the No-Limit Hold’em event in January 2007 at Copenhagen. He got third place and took away $236,242 in prize money for his significant performance. He secured 8th position in the No-Limit Hold’em event of the Spring Poker Festival in March 2007 and earned a good $3,473. In June 2007, Richard Toth entered the 38th Annual WSOP and played well to cash in at the tournament. He started off with a $7,339 cash prize in Event #19 – No-Limit Hold’em for his 56th place finish. He improved to 17th place, which fetched him $20,761 in Event #25 – No-Limit Hold’em. He rounded it off with $8,717 in Event #47 – No-Limit Hold’em though he finished 72nd.
At the Austrian Classics in the No-Limit Hold’em (Event #5) in October 2007, Richard Toth took away $1,507 for his 10th place finish. In the same tournament, he played brilliantly in the Pot-Limit Omaha (Event #6) to win it and walk away with a sizable amount of $22,910. In November 2007, he participated at the Master Classics of Poker and finished 16th in the Pot-Limit Omaha (Event #4) that got him a good $3,094.
Richard Toth has been winning regular cashes in the 39th WSOP 2008 too, for he earned a good $14,480 in the No-Limit Hold’em (Event #2) in May for his 40th place finish. He made another $2,728 in Event #6 – Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better in June 2008. In the same month, in Event #32 – No-Limit hold’em, Richard Toth finished 53rd and earned a neat $8,491.
