Ralph E Porter, nicknamed "Rep", was born in 1971 in the town Woodinville, Washington, United States, where he still resides. Porter went to the University of Washington and graduated there. After graduation Ralph Porter started working as equity options trader and later turned to professional poker. Some time after that he met his beloved one and is currently married and has two children.

All together Ralph Porter has 11 winnings in the WSOP, some of which were at the Final Table in the $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout event in the 2006 WSOP, finishing at 4th place and earning $39,339; his highest cash was at the Main Event with 39th place at 2007 , earning $237,865; he also got the second place at the $9,700 Championship 2006 WSOP Circuit event in Caesars - Atlantic City, earning $192,060; and the latest entry he had was on June 5, 2008, where Ralph Porter won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the $1,500 Buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Six-Handed event at the 2008 World Series of Poker, with a total winnings of $372,843.

In the World Poker Tour championship events Ralph Porter has managed to finish in the money five times, but the most memorable one was when he took second place in the $2,500 Limit Hold'em event at the 2007 L.A. Poker Classic, earning a grand total of $48,380.
Other tournaments that Ralph Porter has taken part in are World Championship No-Limit Texas Hold'em (Event 55), 2007 L.A Poker Classic, 2007 PokerStars' Caribbean Poker Adventure, 2004 Festa al Lago III Poker Tournament and 2003 United States Poker Championship.
