Nino Marotta

Nino Marotta

Nino Marotta was born and brought up in Perth, Australia. Fairly new to the poker circut, Marotta hit the big time at the 2008 Aussie Millions Championship No Limit Hold’em Event, where he was up against Alexander Kostritsyn.

With Kostritsyn at 1,439,000 chips and Marotta with 1,649,000, Kostritsyn raised A-Spades/J-Hearts. Marotta then moved all in at the crucial moment when the flop came down J-Diamonds/10-Hearts with the call Q-Spades/10-Clubs. Kostritsyn countered effectively and Marotta’s 9-Spades was no match for Kostritsyn’s A-diamonds. Marotta eventually secured 5th place and took home AUS$400,000.

In July 2007, competing against 229 other competitors for the $140,336 pool, Marotta took 11th place and bagged $ 1,403 at the Victorian Championships at the Crown Casino in Melbourne.
