Nestor Ygborn is a professional poker player from Sweden. Yet to make an impact on the global poker scene, Ygborn has participated in one World Series of Poker and one World Poker Tour event, but has failed to impress in either. Nestor Ygborn’s major tournament win came at the Swedish Open Poker Championships in 2007.
No Limit Hold’em is where Nestor Ygborn scores and his first major tournament appearance was at the 37th Annual World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on July 28, 2006. The final of the $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Championship, which featured a prize pool of $82,512,162 and 8,773 entrants, saw Nestor Ygborn finish a disappointing 628th, with winnings of $19,050. The event was won by poker star Jamie Gold, who walked away with a staggering $12 million.
Nestor Ygborn’s next major tournament appearance was at the World Poker Tour World Championship at the Bellagio in Las Vegas on April 19, 2007. Participating in the $2,500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event, which saw 417 entries and a total prize pool of $1,011,225, Nestor Ygborn fared far better than his WSOP performance the previous year, walking away with $25,700, 2.54 per cent of the prize pool, for his 31st place performance. The event was won by Arizona’s Bradley Helm.
At the Swedish Open Poker Championships, held in Stockholm in October 2007, Nestor Ygborn managed his best tournament performance to date, earning $77,346 over two events. In the SKr 2,000 Pot Limit Omaha event on October 17, which saw 79 entries with a prize pool of $115,693, Nestor Ygborn managed a fourth place finish, with winnings of $11,569. In the SKr 40,000 No Limit Hold'em main event two days later, which drew 93 entries and a prize pool of $597,126, Ygborn again finished fourth, but this time managed his career high event cash, with $65,777.
