Morgan Machina, nicknamed “The Machine”, is a poker player from Mission Viejo, California, where he lives with his wife and two children.
A veteran of the game, Machina has been playing poker since 1986. Although he did not rake in the big bucks during his early years, Machina consistently managed to finish in the top fifteen at several events. Some of those events include the United States Poker Championship, held in Atlantic City in November 1996, where Machina took part in the No Limit Hold'em category winning $6,890, earning 4th place. Some years later in January 1999, at the Carnivale of Poker II in Las Vegas, Machina played in No Limit Hold'em category where he won a purse of $13,875 and bagged 5th place. In June of 2001, at the California State Poker Championship in Los Angeles, Machina mopped up $20,444 in the No Limit Hold'em category and finished 2nd. Then, in February 2002 at the L.A. Poker Classic, he played in the No Limit Hold'em category in which he won $10,320 and placed 4th.
The best run of Morgan Machina’s career came in 2005, with one top five and three top twenty finishes. He hit the jackpot at the 2005 36th World Series of Poker No Limit Hold'em, where he finished in 4th place and took home $170,380 in earnings. His next big performance came in 2007, when he earned $161,425 at the 38th World Series of Poker No Limit Hold’em held in Las Vegas.
