Med Judah is a profession poker player, also known as “The Silver Fox”. He was born on Oct. 8, 1947 in Calcutta, India. After living in Australia for a short period of time, Med Judah has now settled in London, England. Mel Judah was a hair stylist and he used to practice this job while in Australia. Now he is married to his wife Patricia, and together they have a son, Mark, and a daughter, Tana.
Med Judah`s passion for poker began when he was only 14. His father thought him the technical aspects of the game and Mel Judah always remembers the advice given to him: “that in your game you have to lose the minimum and try to win the maximum”. In his early ages Med Judah played with his friends, but did not start playing professionally until 1981, when was his first trip to Las Vegas. His favorite tournament is the World Series, where most of the best players in the world take part and show their skills.
In his professional experience Mel Judah is most proud of his two bracelets from WSOP. The first one he won in the Seven Card Stud tournament from 1989 and the second again from this tournament but in 1997. Mel Judah also has a second place at the Men "The Master" Nguyen tournament. In 2003 Med Judah also took first place in the 2003 World Poker Tour Legends event, earning $579,375. This was the biggest prize that Med Judah has ever won from any tournament. In the 2006 Poker Million tournament he was fourth, leaving with $150,000. Med Judah made his next strike in the Bicycle Casino’s Legends of Poker Tournament with his first place finish. Med Judah also has some participation at the L.A. Poker Classic and Winning O` the Green. His first places from the early 80s are from the 20th Annual World Series of Poker and 7th Annual Diamond Jim Brady, with a total prize from both of them $200,000. In all his professional experience Med Judah has 126 cashes and winnings of $2,802,801 with 10 first places.
Med Judah says that a very important part of poker is the psychological side of the game. He claims that the patience and changing gears are skills that one player must have. His favorite games are Omaha High-Low and Stud HiLo. In his free time when Med Judah does not think about tournaments as he likes playing golf and watching movies. Also being one of the most respectful people from all poker players, he was asked to direct the new European Poker Masters tour in September 2006. This tournament was produced by the team behind The Poker Channel with total tournament winnings of $3,000,000. Now Med Judah is a tournament director for the World Poker Championships in Dublin. His biggest dream is to have his own casino.
