Mansour Matloubi was born in Wales and currently lives in London. He has had an interest in the game ever since he was young. Mansour Matloubi has been for many years an extremely active player, participating in a number of major events and finishing in the money a total of 13 times.
There’s no argument, though, that Mansour Matloubi`s greatest time was in 1990, when he won the main event at the World Series of Poker. Along with 1st place he took home $835,000 and a WSOP bracelet. That year he demonstrated aggressive attitude, recklessness and just how eager he is to win. And that’s why that victory is worthy of remembering. Later Mansour Matloubi kept on participating in various tournaments, but never again managed to finish first. Some of his most memorable participations were the 24th Annual World Series of Poker, where he took 4th place along with $120,000 in 1993 and the California State Poker Classic, where he took 2nd place along with $29,070 in 2005. Mansour Matloubi last participated in the Betfair Asian Poker Tour on November 17th , 2006 where he placed 13th and won $14,570
Unfortunately, today Mansour Matloubi is not nearly as active on the scene as before. As a matter of fact, one can see him very rarely in a poker tournament. Currently a resident of London, Mansour Matloubi mostly participates in events in Europe. Of course, we can always expect to see him playing at an event in America – after all poker players may be anything else but predictable. As of 2008, his total live tournament winnings exceed $1,900,000.
