Mads Anderson

Mads Anderson, a native of Copenhagen, Denmark, is an accomplished professional poker player, with career earnings of over $1 million. At the 31st World Series of Poker in the $3,000 Pot Limit Hold'em event, Anderson finished 5th, taking home $27,000 for his efforts.

Anderson picked up his first tournament win at The Sixth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica in January 2005, when he came out on top in the $ 1,000 Pot Limit Omaha event, beating a field of 135 to pick up $128,379 of the $328,829 prize pool. He managed another tournament win in October 2005, when he finished joint 1st at the European Poker Tour’s Baden Classic at Casinos Austria in Baden.

Mads Anderson’s biggest tournament cash came at the European Poker Tour’s Scandinavian Open in his hometown in January 2006. Competing in the DKr 30,000 No Limit Hold'em event with 287 other entrants, Anderson not only made the final table, but proved too good for the competition, leaving the Casino Copenhagen in 1st place and $413,442 richer.

Anderson carried his good form across the Atlantic and to Las Vegas when he finished joint 1st in the $1,500 Super Satellite No Limit Hold'em event at the 5th Annual Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December 2006. With a prize pool of $855,540 and 588 other entrants to compete with, Anderson shared the top spot with 54 others, earning $15,000.

The very next day, Mads Anderson notched his second-largest tournament cash in the $15,000 Doyle Brunson North American Poker Classic No Limit Hold'em event. With close to $8.5 million to play for and 582 other entrants to contend with, Anderson made the final table and put in a fine performance to finish 4th and leave the Bellagio $380,630 richer.

Anderson had a disappointing outing at the 38th World Series of Poker in June 2007, finishing 91st and earning $5,807 in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em. He returned to the Rio in Las Vegas in July 2008, but again failed to make an impression, this time in the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Hold'em event, where he finished 325th in a field of 6,844 and took home $32,166 of the close to $6.5 million prize pool.

Mads Anderson’s consistently good performances have seen him reach 81st in the 2006 Money List, 8th in the Denmark All Time Money List, and 23rd in the Scandinavia All Time Money List.
