Lou Esposito, a resident of Glendale, New York, started playing poker in 2006, when he was 29. Although that wasn't so long ago, it appears that the appetite of Lou Esposito to poker knows no limits, and his talent completes his passion for the game. There's no other way of explaining his meteoric climb in the professional poker scene.
Lou Esposito is originally a business owner. He has owned vending machines, a pizzeria and a cellular phone store. He knows how the business world acts and works his way in the poker world just as well as he does in his business. Lou Esposito, like many other professional poker players, knows how to make bets and take risks from time to time, So far, it's paying off for Lou Esposito – paying off big-time.
The poker career of Lou Esposito truly began on February 12th, 2006, after winning his first cash prize in a live professional poker tournament. It was a WSOP Circuit event at the Harra's Atlantic City Poker Tournament. Lou Esposito participated in the WSOP Circuit No Limit Hold'em tournament and took the 3rd place, along with $27,500 – not to bad for a rather new participant in that kind of tournaments. A month and a half later, on March 31st, 2006, Lou Esposito won yet another WSOP Circuit tournament of the Harra's Atlantic City Poker series. This time it was the WSOP Circuit No Limit Hold'em Championship, and once more Lou Esposito made it to the cash – he only took the 9th place, but won another $28,209.
Ever since then Lou Esposito appeared to have decided to go totally pro. He managed to participate in over 40 events and win cash in more than half of them. He also won the 1st place in four tournaments. The first time Lou Esposito has won the 1st place in a tournament was in the WPT Season 5 Borgata Poker Classic, on January 19th, 2007. It was yet another No Limit Hold'em (it appears that No Limit Hold'em is the game Lou Esposito favors most) and the winning was his greatest up until then, $174,466. Three months later, on April 19th, 2007, Lou Esposito won another tournament and took home $25,700, in the No Limit Hold'em Super Satellite of WPT Season 5.
May 23rd, 2007, might have been the greatest day in the life of Lou Esposito the poker player, if not in the life of Lou Esposito the man. On that day he took the 1st place of the WSOP Circuit No Limit Hold'em Championship, at Harra's New Orleans Poker Tournament, and took home his largest winning ever yet, $516,801! This winning had more than doubled his profits from poker tournaments, and Lou Esposito, who is – as mentioned above – a businessman, was surely a happy fellow after seeing that his investment paid off well.
During 2007 and 2008 Lou Esposito continued his tradition of playing as many tournaments as he can, and his bankroll grew larger and larger. He won another 1st place at the Binions Poker Classic No Limit Hold'em Championship on July 7th, 2008, and went home with yet another $33,000, but looking at him, it's easy to know that this will not satisfy the poker passion of Lou Esposito. I'd say we're very likely to hear from him again, and very soon indeed.
