Besides these events, he had many impressive finishes between 2004 and 2007. In February 2004, at the Midlands Medley Tournament, Lawrence Gosney won $937 by finishing fourteenth in the No-Limit Hold’em Event 4. At the same tournament he earned $5,249 as well by securing tenth place in the No-Limit Hold’em event.

Just a week later, Lawrence Gosney secured the fourth place in the Pot-Limit Hold’em Event at the Mini Festival, taking home $2,925 as prize money.
In November 2004, Lawrence Gosney secured a decent finish at the ninth place in the No-Limit Hold’em event at the Northern Lights Tournament and won $1,893. The following year was great for him, as he had two first-place finishes totaling to a handsome amount of $496,318. On February 18, Lawrence Gosney was placed first in the No-Limit Hold’em event at the Spring Festival held at the Napoleons Casino and earned $13,123 as prize money. He had a remarkable win on June 28, 2005, when he bagged his first gold bracelet in the No-Limit Hold’em Event 29 at the 36th Annual WSOP held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and walked away with a staggering amount of $483,195. This event had a prize pool of $1,972,480, and he outlasted an incredible 1,072 players to secure the first place. He played very well throughout this game and was brilliant at the heads up stage when he was holding a 4 to 1 chip lead against Jarl Lindholt, a Danish poker player. Jarl Lindholt moved all-in with 9-8 while Lawrence Gosney called with Ad-Qd. When the flop came Js-10d-5d, Lawrence Gosney had a nut flush draw and a gutshot straight draw while Lindholt had an open-ended straight draw. When the river came, it changed Lindholt’s luck and gave Lawrence Gosney his first World Series of Poker title just three years into his poker career.
