Jimmy Doman is a professional poker player, from Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States of America. He started playing poker way back in 1959 in the company of his friends. Jimmy Doman was inspired into the game by Seymore Leborwitz, Pug Peirson, Johnny Chan, and Stu Ungar. At the table and in poker circle Jimmy Doman is known by his nick name “Jimbo”.

In early days of his career, he played poker with Al Korsin and Bones Berland, poker pros from his country. All three teamed up and played mostly at the Golden Nugget and at times they also played at Stardust, both are popular casinos in Las Vegas.

Jimmy Doman announced his arrival into the international poker scene with a spectacular first-place finish in Event #4 – No-Limit Hold’em at the 13th Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) held in 1982. He competed with 192 entrants at the event and entered a head-up confrontation with Frank Henderson, a poker pro from Houston, Texas. After a tough fight, Jimmy Doman won his first WSOP bracelet and walked away with $96, 000 in prize money. Following this stupendous success in the 1982 WSOP, Jimmy Doman teamed up with his close buddy Bones Berland and took part in Event #4 - Mixed Doubles - Limit Seven Card Stud at the next edition of the Annual World Series of Poker. As a team, they performed exceptionally well and won their first WSOP bracelet. Jimmy Doman took part in Event #3 – No-Limit Hold’em at the 17th Annual World Series of Poker 1986 held at Binion's Gambling Hall, Las Vegas. In this event, his impressive fourth-place finish earned him $24,750 in prize money. He also took in Event #12 - World Championship – No-Limit Hold’em at the same WSOP tournament and finished in eighth place to walk away with $22,800 cash prize.

Later in 1990, Jimmy Doman maintained his winning momentum with a seventh-place finish in the No-Limit Hold’em event at the Superbowl of Poker Tournament and added $16,800 to his bankroll. Following this event, he continued his success run in poker by securing 3rd rank in the Limit Hold'em at the Amarillo Slim Super Bowl of Poker and made $7,650. In the same year Jimmy Doman made a total of $18,885 at the 22nd Annual World Series of Poker 1991 by contesting in various events that include Event #2 - Limit Hold'em, Event #7 - Limit Seven Card Stud, and Event #16 - No-Limit Hold'em. Jimmy Doman continued his good form and finished 6th at the next edition of the Annual World Series of Poker in the Event #16 - No-Limit Hold'em and won $16,800 cash prize. After a few years, in 2006, he secured 3rd rank in the Employee Event - No Limit Hold'em at the Melbourne Hold'em Championship.

Jimmy Doman likes to stay in Las Vegas and loves to play Hold'em games. He is very sportive at the tables and did not like the commercial aspect of the game. He enjoys listening to Nat King Cole and his favorite movie is The Fugitive. Besides his love for the game, Jimmy Doman always had a special love for his two children. As of 2008, Jimmy Doman has made $222,614 in total winnings and has had 13 cash finishes.
