Jason Sagle, also know as “Big Bird”, was Born in Sudbury, Ontario on September 20, 1976. As a young boy Jason Sagle grew up dreaming to become a police officer, but after trying out a few different jobs has ended up making a handsome living playing poker.

After Jason Sagle graduated from high school, he went to college where he volunteered to be a member of the police auxiliary as to get a taste at what it would be to be a cop. After graduating from college, Jason Sagle started thinking about a change in plans after his best friend pointed out to him the lucrative possibilities of a career as an insurance agent. A job advertisement brought him to Barrie, Ontario, and along with the new job Jason began playing poker at a close by casino to fill his free time. After having spent a few years in balancing poker and insurances, Jason Sagle suddenly realized that he was making much more money on the poker table than in the office. When interviewed by PokerListings.com, Jason Sagle said that “Making the jump to the professional level was a risk at the time, I didn't really have a big bankroll or anything. I had two kids so I just decided to try it." And so he decided to try his luck with poker and quit his job.

While still working as an insurance agent, Jason Sagle used to play mostly online, but now hr did not have to go the office everyday, which meant a lot more time with his family and a lot more time for poker. It took some time and a lot of hard work to get into the game, because Jason Sagle now relied only on his poker skills to pay the bills. After six months without having made any serious money, he won a few bigger online tournaments and began his way into the world of professional poker.

Jason Sagle is described as an aggressive player who likes to make himself known at the table. He is an imposing presence both physically and psychologically. His first participation in a live tournament was on March 28th, 2003 at the First Annual Turning Stone Poker Classic, where he placed 3rd and won $1,344. Jason Sagle`s first big success came on May 28th, 2004 when he entered the 35th Annual World Series of Poker World Championship - No Limit Hold'em. Even though he placed only 23rd, Jason Sagle won the amazing sum of $120,000. Another memorable tournament for him was the North American Poker Championships / WPT Event Season 5 on October 29th, 2006, where he place 2nd and won $676,107. Jason Sagle has last been seen on July 3rd,208 at the 38th Annual World Series of Poker, where he won $6,634 in 39th place. Altogether Jason Sagle has participated in more than 23 live tournaments and countless online tournaments. As of 2008 his total winnings come up to $1,055,546. Jason Sagle is yet to achieve a first place win.

Jason Sagle still resides in his hometown Sudbury together with his wife and children. Now-a-days he plays poker mostly online, so that he has enough free time for his family.
