Haralabos Voulgaris, a professional poker player, was born on April 7 in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada. He is of Greek origin and holds his heritage close to his heart. He has a reputation for being a very intelligent person who has demonstrated great determination, which helps him achieve the goals and high standards he sets for himself.

Haralabos Voulgaris went to the University of Manitoba, where he graduated with a degree in philosophy. He has been making a living for himself as a professional sports bettor, particularly in NBA basketball, since his late teenage years. He then shifted his focus to playing poker, with cash games as his specialty. It was in 2003 that Haralabos Voulgaris set his sights on becoming a winning tournament player and, after seeing the first season of a World Poker Tour broadcast, decided to give it a shot. He began his tournament run by cashing in the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic two years in a row in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em event.

Haralabos Voulgaris had his first major win in 2005, when he was the runner-up at the L.A. Poker Classic of the World Poker Tour Event Season 3 and took home $904,122 in the No- Limit Hold’em event. Soon after this impressive finish, he increased his earnings by $25,700 at the Five-Star World Poker Classic tournament in the Satellite No-Limit Hold’em event, which was held on April 17th. On November 23, 2005, Haralabos Voulgaris managed to pocket $25,000 for his thirteenth-place finish at the Monte Carlo Millions tournament during the No-Limit Hold’em event. At the Mirage Poker Showdown of the World Poker Tour No-Limit Hold’em Championship on May 17, 2006, he added another $44,391 to his bankroll and finished eleventh. Haralabos Voulgaris ended his 2006 season by cashing $135,315 at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic tournament. He played brilliantly in the WPT No-Limit Hold'em Championship Doyle Brunson North American Classic and ended the game in eighth place.

Haralabos Voulgaris started 2007 by bagging $45,560 at the Crown Aussie Millions Championship in the No-Limit Hold’em Championship. He then accumulated $87,994 by cashing in the World Poker Tour World Championship, the Mirage Poker Showdown, the Bellagio Cup lll, as well as the Gulf Coast Poker Championship. His biggest success in 2007, however, was his second runner-up finish at the Borgata Poker Open/World Poker Tour Season 6. He walked away with a staggering $434,560 in cash in the WPT No-Limit Hold’em Championship.

Besides targeting a World Poker title, Haralabos Voulgaris dreams of becoming a playwright and having his plays performed on Broadway. Apart from this, he wants to become an accomplished piano player. During the off-season, Haralabos Voulgaris reads often, watches Canadian football, and also travels.
