Eric Assadourian, the new sensation in the poker world, is a highly talented poker player from Down Under. Born in Sydney, Australia, Eric Assadourian is already being marked as one amongst the best poker players to have emerged from Australia. This young but nevertheless true professional, is all of twenty eight and perfected his poker skills playing at the famed Star City casino in Sydney.

The year 2006 saw Eric Assadourian burst on the professional poker scene during the main event of the famed Melbourne Championships. He finished first, going on to win the prize money of $61,188. The amazing run at the tournament and the subsequent win firmly established him in the highly competitive world of poker. From this tournament onwards, Eric Assadourian never looked back and seems to be on a never-ending roll of raking in the green, finishing in the chips in various events along with four first place finishes.

The success at the 2006 Melbourne Championships was followed by a second place finish in Pot Limit Omaha event at the Victorian Poker Championship, held in August, 2006. Eric Assadourian has been among the most consistent poker players in recent times, having played at various prestigious poker events, ending up with good finishes. The New Zealand Poker Championships, Main Event - No Limit Hold'em held in April, 2007 saw Eric Assadourian finishing in the first place amassing a total of $75,934 as prize money. He again showed his acumen at the poker table by winning the mega event at the 2007 Asian Poker Tour - APPT Macau tournament. The event was No Limit Hold'em High Rollers and he was simply phenomenal, hammering his way through a tough field of 64 professional poker players to win the event. He won a whopping $368,640, his biggest prize money so far, and on the way gained the much needed internal acclaim.

The 2007 APPT Macau tournament firmly established Eric Assadourian as a player to reckon with. The highlight of the event was the final heads up play between Eric Assadourian and Bo Sehlstedt, the Swedish professional poker player. Eric Assadourian called the all-in bet of 101,000 made by the Swede who held As 6d. At that moment, Eric Assadourian, with an 8:1 chip lead, said “let’s gamble” and showed 9h 8d. The turn gave Eric Assadourian the river Jd and also a pair of nines. He finally secured the title and the bumper prize money. In an interview after his victory, Eric Assadourian attributed his success at the final table to his excellent chip management and to the fact that he never got overawed by the field which consisted of some very big names.

Good times for Eric Assadourian have kept rolling even in 2008, with him ending up in money on most occasions and grabbing another first place finish in the Limit Omaha event at the New Zealand Poker Championships, held in May, 2008. With getting in cashes thirteen times and finishing at the first place four times in his relatively short career, one can say that Eric Assadourian, as a professional poker player, has really arrived. People in his hometown are expecting many more magical poker moments from him.
