His exploits are well known among professional poker players across the globe with him having participated in numerous poker events. An extensive traveler, Carl Olson has played in most of the major poker events in the world.

Though a highly rated poker player, Carl Olson is yet to win a major poker event. A regular at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) events, Carl Olson has finished in the money on numerous occasions but somehow has not managed to make any of them big. Carl Olson showed a lot of promise with the display of his excellent poker skills at the 2005 French Open - EPT/Pokerstars Season 1, EPT No Limit Hold'em event where he finished second and mopped up a cool $104, 850. However, Carl Olson has not managed to repeat that performance in his game, ending up with average performances in most events.

In spite of some pretty average finishes, Carl Olson has managed to end up in top positions at few events. A third place finish in Event 5 - No Limit Hold'em at the 2005 Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic / WPT Event Season 4 was followed by a seventh position finish at the 2006 World Poker Challenge - WPT Season 4, WPT Main Event - No Limit Hold'em. Some of his other good results include a fifth place finish at 2006 Five-Star World Poker Classic - WPT Championship Season 4, No Limit Hold'em event and a sixth place finish at the 37th Annual World Series of Poker, Event 31 - WSOP No Limit Hold'em event.

During an interview given in 2007, Carl Olson has remarked that the last year has not been good for him as he was not focused enough and usually ended up playing badly. However, according to him, he had regained his concentration and focus and promised to play his A-game. True to his word, the year 2007 was indeed a good one for him with him ending up with good winnings in various WSOP events. Though Carl Olson seems to have slipped a bit again this year with some below par performances in the events he has participated so far. With more than half of the year gone, there is still time for Carl Olson to raise his game and finish the year on a high note.
