Burt Boutin, also known as Red Bull Burt at the poker tables, is a professional poker player and also a successful stock trader born in Pennsylvania. He got his nickname for drinking “Red Bull” at the poker tables and for his overexcited behavior. He currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada with his three children.
Burt Boutin started playing poker in 1994, but he caught the attention of the poker world only in January 1999 when he walked away in first place with $72,400 at the Carnival of Poker Pot-Limit Hold’em. He achieved another milestone in his poker career in May 2001 at the 32nd Annual World Series of Poker Event #12 – WSOP Pot-Limit Hold’em, where he played brilliantly to get his first bracelet and earned prize money worth $193,800. In the same month, Burt Boutin finished 15th and earned $11,115 at the 32nd Annual WSOP Event #22 – WSOP No-Limit Hold’em. The Four Queens Poker Classic Event #12 – Pot-Limit Hold’em held in September 2001 saw yet another remarkable performance by Burt Boutin. He finished the event in second place and made $13,163. He also finished fifth and earned $20,006 at the Four Queens Poker Classic Event #18 – Main Event No-Limit Hold’em.
In September 2003, Burt Boutin pocketed $6,375 for his third-place finish at the Four Queens Poker Classic No-Limit Hold’em. The next month, he finished twelfth and earned $1,465 at the Four Queens Poker Classic No-Limit Hold’em event. He cashed $20,000 by securing 90th place at the 35th Annual WSOP World Championship – No-Limit Hold’em in May 2004. He also grabbed $8,044 in prize money for ranking seventh place at the Festa al Lago II No-Limit Hold’em in June 2004.
Burt Boutin made some regular cashes in poker tournaments in the year 2005 too, starting with his fourth-place finish at the Mirage Poker Showdown World Poker Tournament Season 4 in the Pot-Limit Hold’em event in May, which made him $12,222 richer. Burt Boutin was eleventh place at the 36th Annual WSOP Event #2 –No-Limit Hold’em and pocketed another $34,990 in June 2005. In Event #20 – WSOP Pot-Limit Hold’em, he finished ninth and took home $22,465. In December 2005 at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic WPT Event Season 4 Event #14 – No-Limit Hold’em, Burt Boutin earned $24,150 and finished 67th.
He ended up in twelfth place and walked away from the World Poker Challenge – WPT Season 4 WPT Main Event – No-Limit Hold’em in March 2006 with $28,445 in prize money. He barely missed ranking first at the Mandalay Bay Poker Championships World Poker Tour Event Season 5 Main Event No-Limit Hold’em and went home with $604,765 in June 2006. In June 2006 at the 37th Annual WSOP Event #3 – Pot-Limit Hold’em, Burt Boutin finished fifth and earned $60,169. In the same series in Event #22 – WSOP No-Limit Hold’em, he made $4,311. Burt Boutin bagged $30,248 and came sixth at the Harrahs Lake Tahoe Poker Tournament – WSOP Circuit Event 38 No-Limit Hold’em Championship in September 2006.
At the 38th Annual WSOP, which was held in June 2007, Burt Boutin had an impressive win in Event #7 Pot-Limit Omaha, earning a huge cash prize of $825,956. He finished 21st the next month at the Bellagio Cup III WPT No-Limit Hold’em Championship, earning $30,985. In July 2008, Burt Boutin secured third place and won $66,701 at the Deep Stack Extravaganza in Event #35 No-Limit Hold’em.
