Brandon Cantu, an American poker professional, was born on May 10, 1981 in Vancouver, Washington but he has moved to Las Vegas. Though Brandon Cantu describes his style of play as very aggressive, he is very calm and composed at the poker table. His family and friends are always there to support him as was evident from the loud applause from the spectators’ side when he tasted his first victory at the 37th Annual World Series of Poker Event #2 – WSOP No-Limit Hold’em. His remarkable win fetched him $757,839 in June 2006.
Brandon Cantu finished 18th at the Festa al Lago World Poker Tour Event (WPT) No-Limit Hold’em Championship and made $33,395 in October 2006. In the same month, he walked away with the first place in the Ultimate Poker Challenge No-Limit Hold’em and earned a good sum of $9,400. In December 2006, Brandon Cantu bagged the second prize at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic WPT Event Season 5 Event #1 – No-Limit Hold’em to pocket $136,835.

His 19th-place finish in the World Poker Challenge WPT Event Season 5 Event #17 – No-Limit Hold’em Championship fetched him $11,391 in March 2007. Brandon Cantu secured 6th place in the WPT World Championship/WPT Event Season 5 No-Limit Hold’em in April 2007 and earned $18,665. At the 38th Annual WSOP Event #21 – WSOP Shootout – No-Limit Hold’em, he only managed to come 44th and received $6.757 in June 2007. In the same tournament, he made $3,459 at Event #23 – WSOP Pot-Limit Omaha and finished 54th. In November 2007, at the Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge No-Limit Hold’em, Brandon Cantu played an amazing game and got the second place with $26,250 in prize money.
The 11th place in 2008 Crown Aussie Millions Championship Event #16 – No-Limit Hold’em Turbo held on January 20, 2008 got $2,402 for Brandon Cantu. In the following month, he finished 6th at the LA Poker Classic WPT Event Season 6 Event #18 – No-Limit Hold’em and walked away with a good sum of $22,270. On 29 February, 2008, Brandon Canton secured 10th place in the Wynn Classic Event #2 – No-Limit Hold’em and earned $2,510. In the same tournament in March 2008, he earned $5,936 and finished 6th in Event #4 – No-Limit Hold’em while in Event #8 of the same tournament he made $3,798 and finished 11th.
For his brilliant performance at the Bay 101 Shooting Star WPT Event Season 6 WPT No-Limit Hold’em Championship, Brandon Cantu walked away with the first place and an awesome $1,000,000 in prize money. He finished 6th and bagged $21,855 at the Five Star World Classic Poker Classic WPT World Championship Season 6 Event #8 – No-Limit Hold’em held on April 10, 2008. He made an impressive win at the 39th WSOP Event #10 – WSOP Omaha/ Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or Better where he took home $19,633 for his 9th-place finish.
