Amnon Eric Filippi is a professional poker player with the nickname “Guts”. He was born on June 29th, 1969 in New York City. There is little information about his family and early years but it is known that he has been playing poker since a child and is a competitive person. When Amnon Filippi was young he knew that after a lot of practice and studying poker, the game could be turned into a career.

Amnon Filippi showed a lot of potential and aggressive playing in which way he caught the eye of Paul “The Truth” Darden in Atlantic City. Paul Darden took Amnon Filippi under his wing and coached him to become a tournament player. His first appearance on a tournament was in the late 2003 in Atlantic City. But his most remarkable achievement was on July 18th, 2005 in the Bellagio Cup No Limit Hold'em in Las Vegas, Nevada. Amnon Filippi finished 1st and won a cash prize of $364.200. In 2007 he made it to the final table again, this time in the World Poker Tour Mirage Poker Showdown where he finished 6th and became richer with $100.865. He made another final table in the 38th Annual World Series of Poker Event #39 - WSOP H.O.R.S.E World Championship. He was placed 4th and won a check for $ 586,080. His last appearance was on July 13th, 2008, in the Deep Stack Extravaganza Event #46 - No Limit Hold'em where he finished 18th and won $8.097. Amnon Filippi also took a part on GSN’s High Stakes Poker as he is a high stakes cash game player too.
