Alfredo Leonidas, aka "Toto" or "The Ripper", was born in the Philippines and moved to California, USA. Originally he wanted to become a basketball player, but although he had the skills required to become a basketball player, Alfredo Leonidas lacked the required height. Since he couldn't fulfill his heart's desire, he turned to new fields of occupation and hobbies.
After settling in Los Angeles area in California, Alfredo Leonidas discovered the poker world in the card rooms. He learned the game, and slowly and steadily built himself a bankroll. He adopted an aggressive gaming style that was very different from his calm and quiet self when he's not playing poker. His game consisted many big raises and bluffs, and he started to draw attention from other poker players.
Starting in the year 2000, Alfredo Leonidas started to participate in live poker tournaments, and in 2003 he won his first WSOP bracelet, in the $1,000 Seven Card Stud tournament. In that same year Alfredo Leonidas proved himself a real champion as he won the 2003 USA Poker Championship, and brought home the grand prize of $388,080.
But that was only the beginning for Alfredo Leonidas. 2005 brought him the 3rd place in the Bay 101 Shooting Stars event of that same year. He continues to surprise the world of professional poker to this day, as he constantly takes parts in many poker events and tournaments and wins as much as he possibly can. On his free time Alfredo Leonidas plays online poker at Full Tilt Poker, and is considered a house player there.
So the world may have missed a great and promising career of Alfredo Leonidas the basketball player, but the height didn't stop Toto from becoming the professional and very successful poker player that he truly is.
