It was at this club that Alexandre Poulain won his first major tournament, the European Finals of Poker Pot-Limit Omaha Championship.
In 2004, Alexandre Poulain entered the Paris Open of Poker and played in Event 1 Limit Hold'em. He finished seventh in this event and took home $164 in prize money. Later in 2005, he completed the Paris Open of Poker No-Limit Hold'em event in ninth place and made live earnings of $478. The year 2006 was even better for this budding French champion. Alexandre Poulain claimed the title in the European Finals of Poker for the Pot-Limit Omaha Championship and made impressive tournament earnings worth $32,883. In the same year, he walked home with another $917 in prize money at the Hold'em Series/European Poker Masters Season 1 No-Limit Hold'em.
In 2007, Alexandre Poulain cashed in the Scandinavian Open/European Poker Tour Event Season 3 while playing No-Limit Hold'em. In this event, which was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, he made a significant leap in his poker career when he finished sixth and made $116,903. He was among eight finalists, including Thomas Holm and Theo Jorgensen from Denmark, Samir Shakhtoor, Magnus Petersson, and Anders Wijk from Sweden, Bertrand Grospellier from France, and Richard Toth from Hungary. Later in April 2007, Alexandre Poulain participated in the EPT Grand Final No-Limit Hold'em event, and bagged an additional $2,267.
