Adam Csallany is a professional poker player, born in Athens, Greece and currently residing at Roseville, Minnesota in the United States of America. He went to the University of Minnesota, where he chose computer science for graduation.
The game of poker was not something new to him; he has been playing cards since his childhood. At the age of 18, Adam Csallany decided to take up poker as his profession. Initially, he was playing poker in local casinos at his hometown but later moved on to play online games, which provided him the right platform to try his hand at live tournaments.
In 2001, he had a good run when he finished second in one of the introductory tournaments at the Australian Poker Championships. He had a major break in his poker career, when he took a trip on the PartyPoker Million cruise in 2005. In the promotional event conducted by Partypoker.com, Adam Csallany made enough poker points over a seven-day period, which earned him a berth on the ms Oosterdam and a buy-in to the big event. With the buy-in, Adam Csallany entered the Limit Hold'em at the PartyPoker Million IV – World Poker Season (WPT) Season 3 held on 23rd March. Adam Csallany competed with a total of 735 poker players playing for a total prize pool worth $7,207,108. In this event, Adam Csallany was playing at an aggressive pace and reached the final table, where he had to play against Michael Gracz, David Minto, Mathew Cherackal, Paul Darden, and Richard Kain. In the due course of the game, he finished fourth at the final table and walked away with whopping half a million dollars in prize money.
