Abe Mosseri, also known as Abraham Mosseri, is a professional poker player that was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, United States. In his younger years, Abe Mosseri was an avid backgammon player and soon thereafter joined an elite group of professional playing backgammon players. Throughout his professional poker career, Abe Mosseri has also taken on different business endeavors bringing out the business side of him. For a short time only, Abe Mosseri was a Wall Street trader, and even opened his own cell phone shop in Staten Island, New York. After his business embarking, Abe Mosseri decided to aggressively pursue his poker career, often flying to Atlantic City to expand his on his game and poker experience. Abe Mosseri is known as a player who plays a strong game and is primarily a cash game player. Mosseri even played high stakes as in the $4,000 - $8,000 in the Big Game at the Bellagio Hotel with other seasoned and pro players like Doyle Brunson, Jennifer Harman, and Barry Greenstein. Abe Mosseri’s first tournament cash came in as early as 2003, where he made the final table at the World Poker Tour (WPT) at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic. During that 2003 WSOP, Abe Mosseri finished in 4th place and took home a prize of over $175,000.
In the 2007 World Championship No-Limit Texas Hold’em (Event 55) at the Rio Hotel & Casino, Abe Mosseri played an interesting hand on the first day of the tournament: holding a 5s,5h on a flop of 10s,5s,8h, Abe Mosseri had his opponent all in. But then it took a turn for something different, his opponent rolled out 10d,10c – and his 2h,4d did not bring him the success he was looking for. Mosseri ended up dropping to only 26,000 in chips.
Furthermore, Abe Mosseri went even higher with his 2007 World Poker Tour Championship when he made 46th place where he took home over $60,000.
