Pin up girls or models, however you want to call them are mass produced pictures which have always been seen as having a wide appeal as pop culture. They’ve always been intended for informal display, come to think of it, every single motor mechanic I’ve ever gone and visited have their displayed on their walls or in their workshops. Pin up girls are usually glamour model, fashion model or famous actresses.
Pin up can also refer to drawings, painting or illustrations done in emulation of famous photos. The term was first attested to in 1941; however the practice can be documented back to at least the 1890’s. These images could be cut out of magazines and newspapers, but these days are usually found in calendars which are meant to be pinned up anyhow.
These beautiful images have not only been put onto calendars or magazines but also on other items such as a deck of playing cards as displayed in this post. It’s quite provoking and the artist seems to have joined two of my favorite things together; great looking women and cards. What a game of poker this will make.

Bluff and poker are synonymous. Most poker adverts seem to play on the word bluff and put it into real life situations. These are in my opinion, the best poker adverts that I’ve seen in a long time.
These have been passed around forever, but it’s only apt that they get displayed here as well. Thanks to Live Poker Magazine for the smiles.
