Cezanne’s paintings of card players finally brought together

Cezanne’s paintings of card players have been put on display, together, in London.

The artist painted a series of French peasants playing cards but they have never been exhibited together, until now.

Cezanne became more and more interested in the peasants in the Aix-en-Provence region of France as subjects for his paintings in the later years of his life. He painted five artworks of peasants playing cards and these paintings became famous for their seemingly honest portrayal of a class that, up until that point, had not been considered worthy of documentation.

The paintings have now been brought together from various galleries and private collections from around the world. Included in the exhibition are some preparatory paintings and drawings.

This is a really cool painting I think its good to see "real" people playing a game just relaxing and having fun with their peers. It would be cool to see a all polker themed collection somewhere maybe at a opening of a polker hall!
