In a somewhat unexpected move by Ultimate Bet, they signed on well known adult actress Samantha Ryan as their latest sponsored pro.
Ryan, with over 140 movies under her named and having starred in such films such as ‘Girls kissing Girls’ and War of the Girls’, has gotten sponsorship and made her first appearance this year at the WSOP at Event 11.
Ryan, who hails from Kansas City, picked up poker after attending the University of Texas and whilst working in the real estate industry. A couple of her co-workers were avid blackjack fans and after a few outings to Vegas she picked discovered poker. In an interview she did with PokerNewsDaily, she stated ‘“Four years ago, I started playing online. Without playing higher stakes online, I had success here and there and final tabled a few things. I started getting back into it about a year and a half ago and am definitely looking forward to it now.”
Many have already questioned this move due to her day job, however there are plenty pointing out the fact that she has very limited experience as a poker player. She’s never cashed in at a poker tournament, but has however been playing at numerous charity events around the country such as Annie Duke’s recent After School All Stars.
