Online casinos took advantage of Sunday night’s 2010 Grammy awards by wagering bets on winners. Amongst the awards listed for betting on were Best Song and Album of the Year.
Taylor Swift’s country release ‘fearless’ was a huge favourite to win the Best Album award- with a listing of -120 at various online casinos. Bettors betting on Beyonce would double their money at +200 and Black-Eyed Peas fans could triple theirs at +300 if ‘The End’ won an award. On the night Taylor Swift backers took the pot when she won the award for Best Album.
Other contenders were Lady GaGa and Dave Matthews, who were both considered long-shot candidates for Best Album.
Swift was also the favourite to take Song of the Year for ‘You Belong to Me’ paying only +125 as a winner but didn’t end up winning the award. Beyonce was only seen as the 2nd in running with ‘Single Ladies’ for that award at a +200 wager but ended up taking the award.
Lady GaGa took home the award for Best Dance Recording for ‘Pokerface’ and also collaborated in an eccentric performance with Elton John at the ceremony, starting off with ‘Pokerface’.
