Chan among Chip Leaders after Day 3 of WSOP Main Event

Johnny

Although it’s still early days for the Main Event, two times champion Johnny Chan is amongst the leaders. The field has drastically reduced from 7,319 down to 1,240 players and things are getting a little more intense.  The final cash is drawing nearer as eliminations are happens left, right and centre.

When asked to compare the 2010 competition to the fields he defeated back in 1987 and 1988, Chan chuckled. "Let's just say this; the players are a lot better nowadays."

Chan is pretty confident that he will win his thrd Main Event title and 11th bracelet.  “I absolutely think I can win, otherwise I wouldn't be here," he said. "All those chips help give me confidence too."

Some of the players who’ve had their Main Event dreams sunk are:

David Williams
Phil Laak
Chris Moneymaker
Daniel Negreanu
Joe Cada
Vanessa Rousso
Jack Ury (Actually he did’nt turn up)

There are however numerous big names still alive and well in the game

James Mercier
Barry Greenstein
Patrik Antonius
Sammy Farha
